Day 7: Marine Biology+Research

Today the group went on the marine biology mission again while I went to Golden Stream with Cas and also Alexis, Stephanie, and Victoria this time. At the village, we collected 20 stool samples, handed out toothbrushes/toothpaste/floss/mouth wash, and made a few more bucket filters (with the drill this time). We also taught Abraham how to use the glucometer, scale, and tape measure, and gave the instructions for mebendazole and vitamins to the health care worker.
Once we finished at the village, we took the samples over to the Punta Gorda lab. During the drive, I transferred the stool collection data over from the papers to Google Sheets. We had lunch in Punta Gorda while waiting for the lab manager to return to the lab, and then drove back to Placencia.
The entire group had dinner at Cha Chi's before packing and taking the bus to the airport.
